Joseph Telling His Dream

Joseph stands before his brothers in the open land of Canaan, wearing the distinctive robe given to him by his father. Around him, his brothers listen with tense faces and guarded postures as he describes the dream shown above them: gathered sheaves bowing before one upright sheaf. The vision comes from Genesis 37, where Joseph tells his brothers that their sheaves bowed down to his, a sign of the authority God would one day give him. Their resentment grows because the dream points beyond family rivalry to divine providence, foreshadowing Joseph’s future rise in Egypt and God’s preservation of Jacob’s household.
