Four in the Fire

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stand unharmed inside the blazing furnace, joined by a radiant fourth figure who walks among the flames with calm authority. Beyond the arched furnace opening, King Nebuchadnezzar and his court look on in astonishment as the fire that was meant for judgment becomes the place where God’s deliverance is revealed. The men are surrounded by flames yet remain alive, unbound, and protected, echoing Daniel’s account of faithful worshipers who refused to bow to the golden image. The fourth presence, described by the king as “like a son of the gods,” points to divine companionship in suffering and the Lord’s power to preserve His servants through persecution. This artwork serves ministries teaching courage, obedience, idolatry, persecution, and God’s nearness in the furnace.
